Wearing vs. Styling

Wearing vs. Styling

January is the time for making good on your New Year’s Resolutions. It is also the time to try something new, to reinvent yourself.

We have come up with a few styling ideas to uplift your mood (and your wardrobe), chasing away the post-holiday blues.

Experiment with personal style

January is a great time to try something different, to reinvent your style – step out of your comfort zone, experiment with colours and new trends you have been hesitant to explore before.

Here are some simple style ideas that will bring your wardrobe to the next level.

Build a versatile wardrobe

When we talk about trying something different, it can be by adding something small to your wardrobe that will change your styling balance a bit. It is always worth investing in timeless and versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched to create outfits for different occasions. Here are some examples:

The trending blanket stitch coat would look amazing both with leggings and boots and with skinny jeans and stilettos. And the blanket stitch two-piece set would be perfect for a day shopping in town or for discovering the sights on a city break.

The versatile shirt is exactly that – a multipurpose wardrobe staple that can be styled for almost any occasion – for a busy day in the office or for a casual weekend. Wear it tucked in a pair of tailored trousers or with a pair of jeans and your favourite belt.

The biker jacket is a great investment for your wardrobe, especially as you can style it in so many different ways and always look chic. You can wear it with a maxi dress, with denim, or with tailored trousers.

As we already said – a well-curated wardrobe will have versatile items to be mixed and matched for various looks. Keep experimenting!

Wearing vs. Styling

There is a difference between wearing your favourite item and styling it. A pair of jeans and a white tee are just that, until you add your favourite belt and sparkly heels.

Experiment by changing the shoes, by adding a different accessory or even by layering. While wearing focuses on the practical aspect of putting on clothes, it is the styling part that adds the artistic touch and creates an air of a complete look.
